Referred to by Baly only as 'Reaper Base,' this stone is unable to be linked with any particular structure at Delphi. On the rock, we see indentations that may have supported some statue or monument, and notches near the bottom are evidence of metal clamps attaching it to neighboring stones. A possible identification can be made with the upper stones of the Altar of the Chians, on which indentations similar to these are found. If this is the case, these indentations are from crowbars used in aligning the stones in the next layer.
Creation date unknown. Photograph processed July 1978. Notes written on the slide or index: "Reaper Base".
