Detail of the base of the Offering of Daochos II, a monument containing a long line of statues from Daochos' family. The top layer of stones are the bases of the statues, built in ashlar masonry and featuring drafting around the margins of the blocks. Such drafting is a type of rustication, a carved texture or pattern on the stone, and the particular style is widespread across Greece and the Ancient Mediterranean. The Offering of Daochos II (DH.49) was commisioned between 336 and 332 BCE, while Daochos was a hieromemnon in the Amphictyonic Council.
