Roman Frieze of Theater of Delphi

Abstract

The 1st century CE frieze of the Theater, thought to be constructed in preparation for Emperor Nero's visit in 67. The frieze depicts the labors of Hercules, and this scene depicts Hercules (center) along with the monster Geryon (left) and the Mares of Diomedes (right).
