Barrel Vault at Shah Mosque

Description

A pointed barrel-vault with an exquisitely decorated soffit and alfiz (the rectangular panel enclosing the outer side of an arch). Note the increasing presence of the color yellow in the tile decoration employed in this part of the building. For a general commentary on the tile decoration, see B.52. -MA
