Mihrab in Shaykh Lutfallah Dome

Abstract

The muqarnas-adorned mihrab in the interior of the mosque.

Description

The mihrab is the only part of the interior that Baly has photographed, but the rest of the interior is much more remarkable. This is what Blair and Bloom say about it: "The visual and psychological impact on entering the vast, glowing room ... is stunning, for it is probably the most perfectly balanced interior in all of Persian architecture" (185). -MA
