Forum columns in the basilica of the Volubilis. -AS
The site of Volubilis was built around the 3rd century BC and has been occupied by Phoenicians, Carthaginians, Romans, Latin Christians, Muslims, and at last the Idrisid Dynasty. Even though most of the archeological remains in Volubilis are from the Roman occupation, Volubilis was once a crucial crossroads for Moroccan Berbers and once contained Amaziqh (Berber) temples and sanctuaries. -CK
